We have known for a while that the mad scientists in Maserati’s laboratories have some new vehicles in the works, but it wasn’t until the FIAT Chrysler shareholder’s meeting last week that we learned exactly what to expect in the coming years. At the end of last year, Maserati officials announced the lofty goal of increasing annual sales from 15,400 units in 2013 to a whopping 75,000 units by 2018. The new Ghibliis already helping but, it appears that two more reinforcements will join the Maserati lineup by the year 2016.
You should already know about the Maserati Levante crossover SUV. Rumors of this model have been kicking around for more than a year now, but it has been officially announced that the first of these vehicles will hit dealerships sometime in 2015. With two high-powered V6 engines set to be used in the Levante, we expect it to take a serious bite out of the Porsche Macan’s market share.
The second new model will be the Maserati Alfieri. We can expect this new model to begin rolling off production lines in 2016 and it will be heavily based on the recent Alfieri Concept that we saw at this year’s Geneva Motor Show.
Of course to get more details about these exciting new vehicles or the Maserati models currently available to U.S. drivers, simply stop into the Maserati of Long Island showroom.
